On May 9 and 10, the GEN Glorias Navales Regatta took place at the Higuerillas Yacht Club in Concón. This traditional multi-class competition also marked the closing event of the 2025–2026 National Ocean Sailing Championship.
Over the course of both days, the event brought together more than 60 boats and 200 sailors of different ages, coming from various parts of Chile, consolidating its position as one of the most relevant events on the national sailing calendar.

Felipe Arriagada, General Manager of GEN, stated that “the sea has always been an essential part of our identity and the history of the group. This is especially true in a region like Valparaíso, where much of our journey has taken place, and within the framework of such a meaningful tribute to the Glorias Navales.”
Although dense fog prevented the full program of races from being completed on Sunday, the results obtained during Saturday’s races and the Sunday one-design event made it possible to determine the winners of this competition held in homage to the Chilean Navy. Among them were Emin, owned by Pablo Gallyas, in IRC Overall and IRC Racing; Rigel, owned by Claudio Stuardo, in IRC Cruising; and Mar del Sur, owned by Antonio Pi Plubins, in IRC Classics, along with other winners across the different participating categories.

Likewise, the scores accumulated over the weekend determined the champions of the 2025–2026 National Ocean Championship, crowning Rayo 6, owned by Carlos Gil, in IRC Racing; Scarpia, owned by Bernardo Emhart, in IRC Cruising; and Bocanada, owned by Cristóbal Clavijo, in IRC Classics.
Juan Pablo Castro, Director of the Arturo Prat Naval Academy and Navy Captain, noted that “for the Naval Academy, it is a source of pride to represent institutional sailing, promoting values such as resilience, loyalty, a spirit of achievement, leadership, and teamwork—values that are inherent to this sport and that we foster daily in the training of our cadets.”

Finally, the event concluded on Sunday afternoon with the awards ceremony, led primarily by the Chilean Navy. This instance served to recognize the participants and successfully close a weekend marked by sailing and camaraderie in the city of Concón.
At GEN, we remain proud to support initiatives that strengthen nautical sports, promote teamwork, and keep alive a tradition deeply connected to our maritime history. We are also already preparing the next regattas to be held in 2026, reaffirming our commitment to continue creating spaces that connect the community with the sea and sailing.
